LISTEN TO INTERVIEW BELOW
Some conversations feel routine… and then some remind you exactly why you do this in the first place. Sitting down with Long Island artist, Pretty P ( or as I call her..MS Pretty ) was one of those moments.
What stood out immediately was how deeply rooted music has always been in her life. Like many artists, it started as something personal—something that lived in the background. But there’s always that turning point, that moment when it shifts from hobby to calling. Pretty was open about a relationship that went south but possibly the catalyst to her artistry. She would also explain how her father was the first person to co-sign her skill. You could hear in her voice that once that switch flipped, there was no looking back.
As we stepped into the “lab,” you could tell this is where she’s most at home. Every artist has their essentials—the environment, the energy, the feeling they need to create—but for Pretty, her team is all she needs to produce.
We spoke about the new direction she’s been exploring—experimenting, pushing boundaries, and stepping outside of what’s expected. That’s a risky move for any artist, especially when you’ve built a core fanbase that knows you for a certain sound. She seems to embrace that challenge. It’s a balancing act—staying true to your supporters while also giving yourself room to grow creatively. The difference now? She’s more intentional. Every move, every sound, every message feels deliberate.
As Pretty gears up for what’s next, there’s a clear focus on what she wants to say and how she wants it to land. Not just musically, but professionally. On the business side of things—often overlooked by fans—There’s a new level of maturity. An understanding that talent alone isn’t enough, you need the right people, the right structure, and most importantly, the right mindset.
That extends to how she navigates social media as well. In a space that can often feel manufactured, Pretty P comes across as exactly who she is—no filter, and no façade. It’s a conscious decision to remain real in an environment that rewards the opposite.
The most powerful part of the conversation came when we spoke about motherhood.
Pretty P isn’t just building a career—she’s building a legacy. And that legacy is taking shape in real time. She shared a song from her youngest child, who’s beginning to explore music as well. That moment said everything. The influence, the inspiration, and the example is all there.
I can admit to having a blast talking with this woman who represents the same green grass as myself. We laughed, joked, and one day I may have a job working for her. The main thing this interview taught me …Everything Pretty…but everything AIN'T pretty..
