3rd Times a Charm ft. A. Truth

There’s something special about sitting down with an artist for the third time. The familiarity and the respect is there,  but so is the challenge. You’ve already covered the origin story, you’ve already broken down the influences. Now, it’s about peeling back that next layer.

When my dear friend Truth came through this time, the conversation felt different. The energy was focused, and the answers more grounded. Since his last visit, he has  not only changed his surroundings  but lived enough life to see things from a sharper, more centered point of view. When I asked about the biggest personal shift since our last talk, the reflection came quickly — growth wasn’t just musical, it was human.

Their latest project A WORLD TOUR 3 carries that same sense of evolution. From the start, the goal was clear: capture a feeling that hadn’t been touched before. There’s an honesty in the lyrics, and  a sense that this body of work was made by someone who’s learned a few hard truths along the way.

We talked about those lessons, too. What he didn’t understand back in the early days, and what he had to unlearn to keep up with an industry that changes faster than ever. There’s wisdom in realizing that success in music isn’t just about adapting to the times — it’s about staying authentic while doing it.

Then came the real talk. The expensive lessons. The kind that doesn’t come in a debut interview, but only when there’s history between the interviewer and interviewee and because no great talk is complete without a little fun, we dove into the hypothetical: the one rap album they could live with for a year, the trend they’d erase forever, and the rapper they’d swap styles with. It was the perfect balance of thought and humor, and philosophy.
